CONSENT FORM FOR COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

The Brazilian Association of Limnology, as the data controller, is responsible for making decisions regarding the processing of personal data under the LGPD - General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709, of August 14, 2018), and would like to clarify the types of personal data that will be collected at the SIL 2024 registration, as well as the reasons for their processing.

Our commitment to all event participants is based on transparency of information and privacy of your personal data. Therefore, we commit to limit the collection and processing of personal data to the minimum necessary for the event purposes.

This consent includes the collection and processing of the following personal data:

• Name;
• Nickname;
• Gender Identity;
• Date of Birth;
• <span style="color: rgb(12, 84, 96); font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, " segoe="" ui",="" roboto,="" "helvetica="" neue",="" arial,="" "noto="" sans",="" sans-serif,="" "apple="" color="" emoji",="" "segoe="" ui="" symbol",="" emoji";="" font-size:="" 16px;="" text-align:="" -webkit-center;"="">CPF (Brazilian individual taxpayer registry);
• Contact information (email, phone, and address);
• Billing information;
• Occupation;

The processing of collected data is necessary for the following purposes:

• Control of registered participants, creation of identification badges, authorization for event entry, verification of submitted information (student or graduated doctor status), and addressing any accessibility needs;
• Control over congress payment flow;
• Sending communications to promote the program and other relevant interactions;
• Preparing reports for the improvement of future events, including determining target audience by age and gender, among other essential information;
• Compliance with the law and determinations from competent authorities and
• Fulfillment of obligations towards congress attendees, such as issuing Participation Certificates after the event.

The collected personal data will not be commercially exploited, nor transferred or shared with third parties, except for companies contracted to organize the event and handle registrations and payments. These contracted companies, as well as employees, are obligated to process data within authorized limits, in compliance with the LGPD.

Personal data will be stored in the database for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes for which they were collected, except for those required by applicable law to be retained for a longer period. After the determined period in the law, achievement of the purpose for which the processing was performed, or revocation of the data subject's consent, the personal data will be deleted.

The data subject has the right to request: (i) access to the data; (ii) revocation of their consent; (iii) confirmation of the existence of processing; (iv) anonymization, blocking, or deletion of the data; (v) information about the entities with which the data controller shares the data; (vi) clarification regarding the possibility of denying consent and its consequences, among others. We reiterate our commitment to make every effort to protect the personal data of data subjects, in accordance with the provisions of the LGPD. Therefore, we strive to maintain information security standards compatible with the processing needs, in order to preserve the confidentiality and integrity of personal data.

The data subject's acceptance of this consent form is a result of their free, informed, and unequivocal expression regarding the processing of their personal data.
