Christina Wyss Castelo Branco, or Chris: I am currently Full Professor at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), coordinating the Neotropical Limnology Group (NEL). The team of NEL conduct several institutional projects focusing on Neotropical Biodiversity. I have many interests within limnology and research on some of them such as tropical coastal lagoons, shallow lakes, hydroelectric reservoirs, ecology of freshwater plankton, bioinvasion, microplastics, and water & human health. I am also leader of the BIODIVERSITY RESEARCH GROUP IN CONTINENTAL AQUATIC ECOSYSTEMS AND SURROUNDING AREAS (CNPq), and permanent professor of the Postgraduate Programs in Neotropical Biodiversity and in Nursing and Biosciences in UNIRIO. I was President of the Brazilian Limnology Association from 2017 to 2019.
